We cannot determine the exact year this rifle was made as there are only three visible numbers (275) with any numbers before and after being obscured. It is a 1st Model with the second style thumbprint but someone has hammered on the dust cover and needs replacing. The 2nd Style thumbprint would not be found on serial no. 275, so we know there are numbers missing. CONDITION: Dust cover does ride within frame rails. Both sights have been replaced. Barrel markings are readable. All metal is grey-brown patina. Wood is original, proud to metal and in very good shape. Forearm is rougher than the buttstock. Does have one small chip at left wrist. Very good, strong rifled bore with abrasions and black powder residue. Typical, attic-found Winchester.
