This musket features a tapered round barrel, deeply stamped on left side of breech: "GF/P/US" and on top "S.N.J." for State of New Jersey. Standard Model 1816 lock with brass pan and reinforced cock. Center stamped "M.T. WICKHAM/PHILA". Standard Type I furniture. Plain, full length walnut stock stamped on left side behind sideplate "V/GF" and behind trigger guard tang stamped "SUSSEX" also stamped with "SUSSEX" several other places on underside of stock. CONDITION: Good to very good. Barrel retains a grey patina with some pitting overall and scattered dark spots. Markings are excellent. Lock is very good and functions well and retains an even dark grey patina. Lock is in original flintlock configuration. Barrel bands, side plate, and buttplate retain a solid dark patina. Trigger guard missing one screw and has been cleaned. Stock shows some edge wear and scattered marks from use. Markings are very good. Steel ramrod appears to be a replacement.
