Lot consists of: Gun (A) 1864 dated US Parker, Snow & Co. Meridan, Connecticut with a Miller breech loading conversion installed. All other furniture is standard including two leaf folding military sight, three bands, forend cap, ramrod, sling swivels and US buttplate. CONDITION: Full length walnut stock is un-cut. All metal is brown patina. Sharp markings. Stock has usual minor abrasions. Very good rifled bore. Gun (B) "US JAs D. NORWICH CT" contract musket. Has three barrel bands and forend cap. No sling swivels. CONDITION: Rifle is complete with the exception of missing rear sight and ramrod. Metal is all brown patina with surface corrosion behind rear sight. No visible cartouche on stock which has numerous light surface cracks and a crack at base. Could really use some professional help. If one was to remove and repair the stock it would be a good example of scarce Civil War contract musket.
