Lot consists of: two rifles that feature the Martini action which are valuable for single shot rifles on their own. Gun (A) is an Enfield Model 1887. This rifle was changed from an original .577 altered to the .303 British carbine length. Many of these were converted at the factory to .303 British and this was altered to carbine Mk II style. Features the long "monkey tail" lever, military rifle sight adjusted to 200 meters, military front sight, Stock is cut just forward of rear bands. Wood stock has numerous British stampings on right side. Numerous British proofs on left side of frame and 1887 on right. Bayonet lug added. CONDITION: Metal is basically grey patina with the exception of barrel which has 80% arsenal blue. Forestock and hand guard are in very good condition. Buttstock has arsenal toe repair and 3/4" hairline crack. Very good but dirty bore and fine action. Gun (B) short lever Martini action stamped "EG" on right side. Left side is stamped "WW GREENER. MAKER 19517/21". Top of barrel is stamped "GREENERS SPECIAL BORE". Left side is stamped "ENGLAND". Left side of barrel is stamped "CHOKE". Import stamp "SARCO" on right side. Long 3/4 length wood forend with single band. Matching stock with numerous British stamps. Smooth buttplate. CONDITION: Metal is basically grey patina. Comes with period sling. Wood has numerous dings and bruises having seen years of service. Mirror bore. Interesting Greener made single barrel riot gun with Martini action.
