Lot consists of: Gun (A) Yugoslavian Mauser M48 which was the last Mauser rifle made at the Kragujevac facility. Serial number matches between bolt, frame, and stock. Renumbered floor plate. Has Yugoslavian Communist crest on crown. Import stamped. CONDITION: Metal is good, retaining 90% of the arsenal blue finish. Fine bore and action. Stock is rougher with some dings and bruises. A nice example with all original parts. Gun (B) is a Model 1878 made at the Waffenfabrik Bern facility in Switzerland under the Mauser patent. Features full length stock, curved buttplate, 11 round tubular magazine, sight graduated to 1200 meters. Has original ramrod. Matching number on frame, barrel, bolt sleeve, floorplate. CONDITION: Stock is excellent with various Swiss stamps. Rifle is excellent and is rarely found in this kind of condition. Barrel, band and forend tip retain 95% factory blue with patina starting to come through. Frame retains approximately 90% original blue with the same underneath toning. Bolt was finished in the white and is now brown patina. Trigger guard is grey patina. Strong rifled bore with some light frosting. A far above average example.
