US Military issue Smith & Wesson Model 1917 Double Action Revolver. Standard features include six shot fluted cylinder, blue finish, two piece walnut grips, and lanyard ring. Case colored hammer and trigger. This military model is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" under the barrel. Butt is stamped "US ARMY 1917", top left of frame has the Ordnance bomb. Has all matching serial numbers on barrel and cylinder. CONDITION: Unlike most of the 1917's, this was not a closet queen. Barrel retains approximately 50% original blue, small area of salt and pepper, cylinder has about 90% blue, frame has about 85% blue, grips are very good to excellent, strong case colors on trigger and hammer, has a strong clean bore and a fine action. A good example of a used World War I Smith & Wesson.
