Lot consists of: Gun (A) English Pattern P14 Rifle with RE stamp on bridge which is a receiver ring stamp for Remington. Bolt is mismatched and numbered 81?33, rear sight stamped with matching serial number. CONDITION: Stock is in excellent condition with usual light dings. Brass disk on right rear stock has been plugged. Various cartouches are present. Left side of stock has dial with no armature. Retains 90% of arsenal applied blue finish. Strong rifled bore and fine action. A good early 1914. Gun (B) US Remington Model 1917 Enfield with the following features: Remington marked stock, Eddystone rear sight, bolt, bolt release, and safety. Eagle head proof on frame. Remington barrel is dated July 1918 with bomb. Barrel and frame are both blued, and appear to be World War I arsenal finish. This is not your typical rebuild as the gun was not refinished and has a matching stock, frame and barrel. Replacement bolt is parkerized. CONDITION: Walnut stocks are very good to excellent with usual wear. No cartouche but R stamp on end of stock. 1903 Springfield double brass frog sling. Floor is matte blue while trigger guard retains 10% of World War I era bright blue. Bright shiny bore with good action. It is obvious that this is a pretty original blued Remington Model 1917 with some replacement parts during a post World War I checkup. By replacing the replacements with correct original parts, you would have a righteous World War I Remington. Lot also comes with a US 1917 dated Remington bayonet with wood handle and sheath.
