Band is stamped "M47G 1945 U 33660". Top of the wood of the stock is stamped 23356. Bottom of stock stamped "S51". Right side of frame is stamped "ENGLAND". These snipers are built in the No. 4 Mk I and fitted with scope mounts on left side and a wooden cheekpiece screwed on. Comes with a No. 32 scope. Issued in a wood crate with a sling, bayonet, scope, mounts, caps. Crate marked on the outside No. 4 Mk I. Crate is painted green. Rifle itself features a beautiful walnut three piece stock set, sling swivels, flip up rear sight to 1300 meters, and done in a matte black finish. CONDITION: Rifle has some handling marks but appears to be in near new arsenal finish. The scope and mounts come in a special metal box. The mount is stamped 33587. Inside lid has instructions and original paper label with numbers matching scope. Top of case reads "Rifle P 33587" which is off rifle by less than 100. Top of scope is stamped "Mk 3 AK S #23123 1945" with broad arrow. Lens covers are dated 1944. Some red paint on screw and top of scope. Optics need some cleaning and rebuilding. This entire outfit is stunning and complete minus the listed handkerchief which is of little consequence. Neither scope nor mount match rifle but scope does match the case. A complete outfit that would be fun to shoot. The price these rifles bring are a bargain for a real World War II sniper rifle and should increase in value as time goes on.
