Lot consists of: Gun (A) Remington Model 14-1/2 manufactured from 1912 to 1922. Only available in two pistol cartridges, .38-40 and .44-40. The headstamp of the cartridge is set into the left side of the frame. It is distinguished by its full magazine that is not spiral, as it was meant for the flat nose bullets. It is one of the most sought after of all Remington rifles. Features full blued finish, wheel dial rear sight, takedown, grooved walnut forend, and pistol grip walnut stock with Remington monogrammed steel buttplate. CONDITION: Razor sharp markings but is basically a blotchy patina finish. Wood is very good to excellent but has been refinished. There is a small putty repair on left side of stock and where they filled the sling swivel hole. Strong, near mint rifled bore and fine action. If you want one of these to shoot, this one is perfect or would be a great candidate for restoration as they are lovely little guns. Gun (B) Remington Model 14 manufactured from 1912 to 1936. Rifle features full round barrel, spiral magazine, blued finish, takedown. CONDITION: Metal retains 98% of an expertly reapplied blued finish. Razor sharp legends. Replaced ivory bead front sight, replaced folding leaf rear sight. Revarnished pistol grip stock and forend. Fine action and near mint, shiny bore. One of the best deep wood hunting rifles ever invented in a powerful caliber.
