Lot consists of: Gun (A) US Remington Model 1903 bolt action rifle. Barrel is stamped RA3-42. These are considered the last of the true 1903 models. All parts were still machined instead of stamped. This example features the walnut scant stock, which is field replacement and not cartouched. Finished in the OD green parkerized finish. CONDITION: This rifle is in beautiful condition retaining most of its arsenal applied finish. The beautiful walnut stock is near mint. Has an original 1903 leather sling. TE reading: 3. ME reading: 1.5. A very handsome example of the last of the 1903's. Gun (B) Successor to the Remington 1903-A3, and the standard military bolt action rifle of the second World War - a Remington 1903-A3. Which featured the new rear sight and stamped parts instead of milled. Barrel is stamped RA943. has all standard features to include the pressed barrel bands, pressed floorplate and trigger guard, straight grip walnut stock, dark OD parkerized finish, web sling. CONDITION: Metal retains a majority of its original finish and wood has usual minor handling marks. Left side of stock is stamped FJA for Frank Atwood and has the Springfield Ordnance wheel. TE reading: 2. ME reading: 1. This is an excellent lot demonstrating two styles of World War II Remington's.
