The Specialty Grade was introduced in 1912 and continued through 1950. Average annual production was approximately 177. A total of 1,737 were produced with 18" barrels. Features fully matted rib with single bead, top tang safety, standard ejectors, double set triggers, sidelock action, pistol grip checkered walnut stock and black composite buttplate. Beautiful game scene quail in the center of left side and duck on right side. CONDITION: Barrels retains 95% of the reapplied blue finish. Case colors have faded on frame. Wood is proud to metal. Sharp checkering. Wood has a few minor impressions and a minute chip on left side at frame. Barrels are tight and bore is near mint. Beautiful, early L.C. Smith.
