Lot consists of: Gun (A) Italian Vetterli Model 70/87. Produced at Torino Arsenal, this rifle is dated 1883. This beautiful pre-World War I military rifle is all original. Matching stock with all of the proof marks on right side. Newly designed magazine and rear sight made specifically for this model. CONDITION: Wood and metal retain 95% of their original finish with just minor handling marks. Appears to be in near new condition. One of the best we have seen of this model. You would be hard pressed to find a better example of this 19th century military rifle. Gun (B) St. Etienne bolt action military rifle. Features walnut stock, two iron barrel bands, two sling swivels, bayonet lug on barrel, cleaning rod, straight bolt action, no hand guard, military style rear sight. Right side of barrel is stamped "S 1877". Matching serial number on left side of stock. CONDITION: This rifle is in beautiful condition, retaining nearly all of its arsenal reapplied finish. Stock is near mint. Mirror bore. Beautiful example of this scarce model. Accompanied by an original brass and wood bayonet with metal scabbard that is numbered to another gun.
