Manufactured in 1929 and later rebuilt with a Remington Arms RA 5-43 dated barrel. Rifle has been completely refinished and has a late non-finger groove straight 1903 stock and a very late Type III handguard. Mixed Model 1903 and 1903-A3 parts including stamped trigger guard assembly. Remington 1903-A3 bolt and late Remington 1903-A1 flat rear sight adjustment knobs. Rifle is a good representative example and would be ideal as a shooter of for the reenactor. CONDITION: Fair as rebuilt and refinished. The bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling. The wood stocks have been refinished but still have light evidence of the "FJA" cartouche. The action operates properly. The exterior finish is mixed and matched from bright blue on bands, to the action being almost void of any finish, to a refinished grey parkerized finish. Rifle comes with certificate from CMP as being sold as a receiver only in July 2006.
