A Model 1889 shipped in 1888 within the 1885/1887 serial number block. Features 1885 buttplate, damascus barrels, full matted rib, single bead front sight, standard ejector, sideplate action, dual exposed hammers, checkered walnut forend with ebony tip and Deeley release, double set triggers, round knob checkered walnut stock with monogrammed black composite buttplate. All matching numbers. CONDITION: Beautiful Damascus barrels have been rebrowned and retain approximately 80% of the reapplied finish. Mirror bores. Tight action. Wood has had added finish, which is in the checkering. Checkering is starting to thin. Wood is proud to metal with no cracks and usual handling marks. Sideplates stamped "Remington Arms Co" and still exhibit traces of case color but are basically a soft metal patina with some freckling. Traces of blue on trigger guard, exhibiting the same toning as frame. Fully operational.
