Standard 1898 Krag. Features smooth buttplate. Missing upper hand guard and forward barrel band. Has a beautiful, near full length one piece walnut stock with no visible cartouche on left side but strong "P" on wrist. Rifle is missing its nose cap. CONDITION: Barrel retains approximately 90% of the original arsenal applied blued finish. Frame is a beautiful, soft, mottled dark grey. Box magazine has some age freckling. Trigger guard is a blue-grey patina. 90% fire blue on extractor. Excellent stock. Strong, near mint rifled bore. Fine action. With the addition of the missing hand guard and front barrel band, this would be a lovely example of a Spanish-American War military rifle.
