This extremely early Type II gas trap receiver was built from January of 1940 to April of 1940, which is a valuable frame for someone looking to restore and original gas trap. Barrel is a Springfield Armory "3-65" barrel with DOD eagle. Left side of stock has the DOD 1/2" eagle. Proof "P" with serifs on wrist. Late BME rear sight knob, post-war sight. Someone has electro-etched that matching serial number on bolt. Bolt is stamped "D28287-12SA S-B7(diamond)". Trigger assembly stamped "D28290-14-SA". CONDITION: Metal retains the majority of its arsenal reapplied finish. Replaced stock is very good with usual dings. ME Reading: 1. What you basically have here is a good post-Korean War rebuild with a excellent barrel and extremely desirable frame for someone looking to restore an early M1.
