Right grip panel is stamped 196157, not matching. Silver medallion diamond checkered round butt grips. Matching number on cylinder and barrel. Butt is stamped "U.S.N (Navy anchor) 38 DA NO. 853" and inspector stamped "CAB" Charles A. Brand, who was the inspector for the Model 1899 Smith Navy revolvers. This revolver is referred to as the Model 1899 Army/Navy revolver. Double action on round butt K frame. Standard grips would have been non-medallion checkered walnuts. Left side of barrel has several English proof marks but is not of English make, also stamped on left side of frame along with English inspector. Has English inspector on cylinder. Gun features six shot fluted cylinder, double action, case colored hammer and trigger. CONDITION: Revolver has numerous small handling marks as are normally found on these revolvers. Indexes and locks up correctly. Mirror bore. Retains approximately 90% original factory finish. Very rare to find an 1899 Navy shipped to Great Britain.
