This beautiful revolver was made as a supplement to the Model 1911 being used in the first World War. It is basically a six shot double action square butt N Frame revolver with high polish blue finish and made to accept the .45 ACP cartridge with half moon clips. Butt is stamped "US ARMY MODEL 1917" and has an ID number of 118441. Matching serial numbers on cylinder and barrel. Barrel also stamped "United States Property" with eagle head proof. Eagle head also found on back of cylinder and on frame and lower left trigger bow. Left side of frame has ordnance bomb stamp. Other features include case color hammer, trigger and lanyard loop. CONDITION: This revolver has a drag line, hint of muzzle wear, and a couple minor handling marks. Still retains 99.9% of the factory high polish blue finish. Two piece walnut grips are near mint. Bright case colors. No signs of cylinder burn. This gun is near new and appears unfired. Would be impossible to find a nicer example.
