An early third year production Model 1911A1 Commercial that has survived in beautiful near mint all original factory condition. Features the short checkered pre-war trigger, checkered safety and slide stop, short checkered wide spur hammer, fully checkered walnut grips, checkered arched mainspring housing with loop. Left side of slide has two line Colt patent dates, right side of slide is stamped "Colt Automatic Calibre .45" with pony. Barrel lug on left side is stamped "MB", blued, with chamber in the white. Pre-war two tone tempered magazine with no logo at base. CONDITION: Frame retains 99% of the original lustrous pre-war factory blue. Does not even have a takedown line. Slide has razor sharp edges, razor sharp legends, and only under magnification can the lightest hint of muzzle wear be seen and a few age freckles. Bore is mint. One would be hard pressed to find a nicer example of a Colt Commercial 1911A1.
