Model 1877 Lightning was one of Colt's first double action revolvers and was instantly popular in both cities and out west as a handy pocket revolver. This example comes in the somewhat scarce 5" barrel. Has the roll die barrel stamp, six shot fluted cylinder, double action, case colored and blued finish. CONDITION: Gun has sharp stampings but very little original finish. Would be considered a blue-grey patina but clean. Some of the checkering has worn smooth on the grips but the gun was well cared for. Working condition. One of the most popular handguns of the Wild West and is remembered as Billy the Kid's gun.
