This beautiful Artillery-altered Colt US Cavalry Model is a fairly typical 1890's conversion utilizing the following parts: frame dates to 1875, barrel number 7615 Ainsworth inspected, trigger guard number 9369 Ainsworth inspected, backstrap number 19175 stamped "C", and cylinder number 8738 stamped "RAC" for Renaldo Carr. Left side of frame has two line patent date and stamped "US". Single line barrel address. Type I hammer, donut ejector head, one piece walnut grips. CONDITION: Near mint, nearly unused condition. Barrel retains 98% of the arsenal blue with razor sharp legends and distinct feathering at front sight. Cylinder retains 90% arsenal blue with light high edge wear and some patina coming through. Backstrap has 90% of the bright blue mixed with some light toning; same can be said for the trigger guard. Frame retains approximately 85% of the case colors. 50% case colors on hammer. 90% blue on ejector housing. Grips have been refinished and has a ghost image of cartouche box on both sides, but no visible initials. Indexes and locks up like new. Near mint bore. This revolver barely has any high edge muzzle wear. Nearly unfired. If you have been looking for an outstanding Artillery US Colt, one would be hard-pressed to find a better example.
