Offered is a high condition commercial Colt automatic produced at the exact time the United States entered the Great War, making civilian pistols extremely difficult to obtain due to the war effort. This pistol features all standard 1917 parts to include small half moon front sight, beveled edge U notch rear sight, checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, long smooth trigger, flat mainspring housing with lanyard and diamond checkered walnut grips. Pinned base two tone tempered lanyard ring magazine from a military model. 1913 patent date on left side of slide. Right side is stamped "COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBRE 1945". CONDITION: The slide has light muzzle wear. you will find some light toning and forward bottom of slide and forward bottom of frame. Flat mainspring housing is a brown-grey patina. Front straps and trigger guard retain 95% original blue. Frame has some light takedown marks. Overall, good and solid 95% commercial finish. Excellent to near mint grips. Razor sharp bore and fine action.
