Offered is a smooth, clean, all original US Army 1911. Correct parts include small half moon front sight, beveled edge U notch rear sight, "HP" stamp perpendicular to bore, checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, smooth mainspring housing with lanyard, long smooth trigger, diamond checkered walnut grips. "GHS" stamp in circle on left side for Gilbert Stewart, 1915-1918. Magazine is a plain base, pin bottom two tone tempered magazine. CONDITION: Gun has 30-40% blue on frame but metal is basically a blue-grey soft homogeneous patina with razor sharp legends. Near mint grips. Fine, strong and clean bore. Good action. The fading of finish would indicate it was holstered for year, but surface is devoid of any inclusions, abrasions or rust.
