Often referred to as the "High Polish", offered is a first year, three digit Model 1908 hammerless pistol with all the early features to include early first style barrel bushing, black rubber checkered grips with "COLT" at top and pony in circle, first type sights, fire blued small parts. Left side of slide has 1906 to 1908 slide stamp, the only year this stamp appears on a Model 1908. 1908 to 1911 pony in circle at rear left slide. CONDITION: Legends are sharp. Patina is starting to come through the surface but still retains 90% original blue with no finish on straps. Grips are near mint. Generous amounts of fire blue present. Overall high edge and muzzle wear. Sharp lands with lightly frosted grooves. Fine action. Extremely fine condition, all original, all proper first year.
