Likely made in the late 19teens or 1920's, this interesting hammer gun has superior provisional proof mark on the bottoms of the fluid steel barrels. The gun has a matted top rib with ivory front bead and is marked with makers name on tops of barrels near breach end. The lightly engraved action shows light scroll engraving in about 35% coverage. The fences are nicely beaded and the gun has a Greener type crossbolt. The buttstock is a full knob pistol grip with brass oval near toe and terminates with a "Old English" Pachmayr pad. The splinter forend has an Anson type release and is near fully checkered. Housed in a modern green canvas and purple velvet lined case. CONDITION: Very good. Action with about 35% original case color. Stocks retain about 80% of an older restored finish, modern butt pad as noted above. The barrels retain about 80% of their original blued finish with thinning near the muzzles. Mechanics are good. Bores are bright and shiny. A neat steel barreled hammer gun! JSL
