30" No. 4 weight one-third octagon barrel has all correct factory markings, and is fitted with globe front sight and scope blocks holding Fecker tube sight number 7159 with interchangeable apertures. Case hardened No. 44-1/2 action with loop lever, double set triggers, and patented tang sight, with interchangeable apertures, is engraved with large sprays of shaded scroll on each side within line borders. Superb crotch figured American walnut pistol grip buttstock with case hardened pronged Swiss buttplate features large right hand cheekpiece and modified point pattern checkering. Matching schnabeled forend has factory folding palm rest. CONDITION: Excellent, showing very little use. Barrel retains over 95% original blue, with some sharp edge wear and a few light marks. Action retains nearly all original color, color on lever is faded a bit and silvered. Stocks retain nearly all of their original varnish, with a number of light marks and scratches. Checkering is still relatively light in color. Buttplate retains nearly all of its case hardening color, silvered on sharp edges. Bore is excellent, with sharp rifling throughout. Action is tight. Triggers work, but needs cleaning. Tube sight retains nearly all of its blue; present front sight not high enough to use. Truly a superb rifle. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Francis Brown. MGM39
