The transitional Model 1915/19 Beretta 7.65mm pistol incorporated a number of first for Beretta. A new open bridge slide to facilitate better ejection. Internal hammer as opposed to a striker fire mechanism. New lever style safety that allowed for easier barrel removal and pressed steel grips with the "PB" emblem embossed in the top and pressed steel grasping grooves in the grips themselves. Also incorporated was a longer magazine base to aid in removal of the magazine for easier magazine exchange. This example was produced for the commercial market and is void of any proofs. CONDITION: Virtually new condition with little indication of use. Matching numbers are observed on the slide, frame and barrel. These guns are high polish finished and have a distinguished plumb finish on the slides. This is believed to have occurred due to the high nickel content of the hard steel incorporated in the manufacture of the slide itself and its reaction to the hot blue salts used at the time.
