The Model 1923 Beretta had an extremely limited production of only 10,400 guns and this example was produced in the first year. Chambered for the 9mm Glisenti cartridge. This example by serial number is featured in John Woods book "Beretta Automatic Pistols" on page 45. Most all Model 1923 pistols were rendered unserviceable by the the firing of the 9mm Parabellum cartridge in them as opposed to the correct 9mm Glisenti cartridge. These early examples exhibit the the fully open ejection port as opposed to the previous Model 1915. Pressed steel two piece grips with the "PB" logo on top and lanyard loop. This example is commercially proofed at Brescia. CONDITION: Very fine with most all factory applied blue finish remaining with typical high point and edge wear. Numbers are matching and action is very good. Grips are exceptional with no major distress or damage.
