98K Mauser with the "243" code indicating that it was made by Mauser-Werke AG, Berlin-Borsigwalde, Eichborndamm in 1939. Military finished barrel with hooded front sight and elevated rear with distance markings. Barrel marked with "359" Waffenamt marks. Action marked with Mauser code and "Death's Head" mark on left side of the receiver. Bolt marked but is non-matching. Late laminated non-matching stock with cup buttplate. Non-matching milled trigger guard with non-matching barrel bands. Comes with cleaning rod. CONDITION: Gun has a mix of original finish and refinished parts. Bore is excellent. Stock is most likely a replacement. Markings are possibly a later addition ("Death's Head"). Mechanically sound and functions fine. Would be an excellent gun for the World War II enthusiast.
