Remington Rolling Block marked on the right side of the case hardened receiver with spread eagle and U.S.N. Springfield 1870. On the left side near the forestock are the inspectors marks "P/H.B.R." There is an anchor stamp on the barrel at the receiver. Walnut stocks with "EA" cartouche and unreadable mark in the underside of the buttstock. Rifled barrel with graduated rear sight and blade front sight fitted for a saber bayonet. US marked buttplate and two barrel bands and steel ramrod. Comes with Ames marked brass hilted saber bayonet in original leather sheath. CONDITION: Overall condition is excellent with finish on metal parts fading to a silvery patina. Traces of case on the receiver with it also wearing to a silvery patina. Shootable bore. Wood has remnants of original finish with readable side cartouche and illegible bottom. Stock has light handling marks and dings. Mechanically sound and functions fine. Bayonet is overall good with unmolested blade and readable markings. Brass parts wearing to a golden color with blade having a peppery patina finish.
