Receiver manufactured in 1904 and updated to later 07 pattern. Early finger groove stock with two cross bolts. Early dished rear sight knobs and early arched hand guard. Rock Island "RI" marked stock on muzzle end. Straight bolt and barrel dated "RIA 5-07". Rifle was purchased by previous owner in 1956 while stationed in Europe. Comes with pattern 1905 Springfield bayonet dated 1907. Scabbard "RIA" marked and dated 1907. CONDITION: Good overall with good bore with sharp lands and grooves. Stock has been period cleaned and is void of markings. Receiver has attained a pleasant plumb patina while trigger guard and buttplate still retain much of their post-1918 phosphate finish. Bayonet blade in exceptional, full length and still nicely bright. Scabbard is equally fine with supple leather with good stitching. Handles are very fine and are full sized and not refinished.
