Antique 1st Model double action .44 Smith & Wesson revolver chambered for the .44 S&W cartridge. 6" round barrel with rib. Single and double action operation, top break design with six shot cylinder. Pinned half round front sight with integral rear sight in barrel latch. Two piece Smith & Wesson matching numbered hard rubber grips. These large frame double action revolvers brought Smith & Wesson to the forefront of the of the handgun market. CONDITION: Very good as professionally refinished. Bore has several small areas of discoloration and light pitting, The chambers are excellent. Grips are very fine with no distress or material loss. The markings are crisp and legible. Matching numbers are found on the frame, cylinder, barrel and latch as well as the grips. The refinish work is excellent and is easily confused for original factory finish.
