Very fine World War I issued Colt Model 1917 revolver with standard secondary polished finish. Two piece smooth military grips and lanyard swivel. Chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge and intended for half moon clip use. Rampant Colt found on left side plate and US Property on underside of barrel. CONDITION: Very good with factory assembly numbers all matching on frame, crane and grips. Bore is less than average as it has been pitted in the past and rifling is very weak. Action operates properly and thinning blue finish is rated at 60%. These guns saw extensive post World War I use with the US Postal service and Federal law enforcement agencies. Many were reissued for World War II use as well.
