Offered is a standard pre-war Winchester Model 71 that features full round barrel, 2 - 1/2" hooded ramp front sight, folding leaf rear sight, half magazine, blued finish, sling swivels, pistol grip checkered walnut stock and period Hawkins waffle buttpad. There have been three additions or alterations to this rifle: left side of the frame has three filled tap holes along upper left, obviously for some sort of scope mount; a Williams peep sight has been added; stock has been shortened and waffle pad added during era of use. CONDITION: Barrel retains 95% original blue with a little bit of age freckling. Frame retains 97% blue including bottom, with just a couple of light spots. Bolt retains 98% blue.
