This standard mid-war Model 1911A1 was manufactured by Remington Rand under the Colt World War II contract. Slide is stamped "REMINGTON RAND" n left side with "P" on top. Left side of frame has the "FJA" Frank Atwood inspector stamp with proof "P" and light import stamp. Right side of frame has the "US ARMY" stamp along with Ordnance cannons. Features Type III rear sight with beveled edge and square notch, serrated hammer, serrated slide stop, checkered safety, checkered arched mainspring housing with loop, short checkered trigger, Keyes type brown composite grips. Barrel is a parkerized High Standard. Pinned base blued magazine stamped "CR" bottom of base and "R" (Risdon Tool & Machine Co.) on top of base. CONDITION: Barrel appears to be new old stock. Majority of metal retains the dark matte arsenal finish, thinning on front grip strap and trigger guard. Fine action.
