This is a typical World War II rebuild featuring a Remington frame with the ordnance wheel and "FJA" Frank Atwood inspector stamp. Manufactured in 1944, it was rebuilt using a World War I period Colt slide, World War I barrel with the "PH" in line with bore, 1911 style short checkered wide spur hammer, checkered safety, World War II era serrated slide stop, World War I era flat mainspring housing with loop, World War II era short checkered trigger, World War I type checkered walnut grips. Has a World War I era two tone magazine. CONDITION: Retains 85-90% of the World War II type matte arsenal finish. Fine bore and action. Fairly typical use of mixed war parts and refinished for either World War II or Korea.
