Lot consists of: Gun (A) Commercial Series referred to as the 1892 Army-Navy revolvers. These were Colt's first swing-out cylinder revolvers, laying the tracks for all subsequent such firearms produced at Colt. Manufactured 1897. Features standard blue finish, six shot, double action, fluted cylinder, and Colt pony monogram hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Retains 50% of the original Colt blue blending perfectly with the soft, smooth brown patina, giving the gun handsome eye appeal. Indexes and locks up correctly. Strong, rifled bore with usual minor black powder abrasions. Gun (B) Mechanical twin that was made for the military. Left side of frame stamped "JTT" John Thompson, "RAC" Renaldo Carr. Bottom of left frame dated 1902. "CFA" stamp in circle found on a number of rebuilt Colt New Army-Navy Models. Inspector "K" on cylinder release. Butt stamped "US ARMY MODEL 1901". Back of cylinder stamped "RAC". Standard model with blued finish, six shot, double action, fluted cylinder, two piece walnut stocks and lanyard ring. CONDITION: Razor sharp markings. 20-30% original blue, balance drifting patina blending perfectly for a homogeneous look. Strong bore with some black powder abrasion. Locks up correctly. A very nice contrasting pair of civilian and military examples of Colt's first swing-out cylinder revolver.
