Manufactured 1886 to 1898. Approximately 15,340 manufactured. The basic difference between the double action Frontier and the New Model Navy No. 3 double action is the Frontier is chambered for the Winchester cartridge. This fine, all original Western revolver features factory nickel finish, case colored hammer and trigger, blued barrel latch and trigger guard, and Smith & Wesson monogrammed black composite grips. Early two line barrel address with barrel dates. This revolver was still in the factory catalogs through 1913 but all frames were made prior to 1898. CONDITION: There are some minor age freckles on barrel, cylinder and frame. Legends are sharp. Still retains 90% factory original nickel. Bright case colors. 85% blue. Grips are excellent. Fine bore with some light corrosion and good action.
