Good 2nd Model Allin Conversion of an 1866 Springfield rifle. The lock is dated 1864 and the breech block is dated 1866 with eagle stamp. CONDITION: Lock is slightly worn but with crisp marking. The barrel is finished in arsenal bright, with oil quenched finish on breech block. Blued rear sight. Action is excellent, bore is brilliant with very little erosion. Walnut full stock is full dimensions, mostly proud to buttplate and barrel tang. Inspectors marks on left side of stock are worn but present. Stock appears to have a coat of clear lacquer, which can be removed. Original ramrod. Gun is in very good overall condition.
