Good 1873 Trapdoor rifle with some 1884 features including the Buffington wind gauge rear sight. CONDITION: Lock retains most of the original bluing. The breech block retains considerable original case hardening. Barrel retains nearly all the original blue, thinning somewhat. The Buffington wind gauge sight is as new. Barrel bands, trigger guard and buttplate retain considerable blue finish. Walnut full stock with considerable and a few storage dents. Stewart W. Patch inspection dated 1888 is extremely clear. Action retains its three distinct clicks. Bore is excellent. A nice example of this model.
