Lot consists of: Gun (A) Steyr manufactured receiver with spitzer "S" on barrel shank. Matching numbers include: receiver, barrel, bolt, and forward barrel band. Stock has been arsenal renumbered to match the rest of rifle. Sling and bayonet are both present. Bottom of barrel is import marked. CONDITION: Metal components retain 95% of reapplied finish. Minor losses to finish on magazine housing and front sight band. Wood retains 90% of reapplied varnish with slight loss to finish on rear stock. Stock shows many scattered handling marks all around and has a 6 -1/2" hairline crack on the left side, starting at the trigger guard and moving to the rear of the stock with another 1 - 1/2" hairline crack from the trigger guard to the sling swivel on the right side. Multiple wood fillings around rear stock. Bore is bright is with strong rifling throughout. Action is smooth and locks up tightly. Bayonet has turned a light gray patina, showing sharpening marks the length of the blade. Handle has minor losses to wood. Sheath has turned a dark gray patina and shows handling marks throughout. Gun (B) 1903 contract receiver manufactured by Steyr for Bulgaria. Bulgarian crest on receiver. Has spitzer conversion marking on barrel shank. Matching numbers include receiver, barrel, and front barrel band. Stock has been arsenal renumbered to match receiver. Sling is present. Left side of receiver is import marked. CONDITION: Metal components retain 95% of factory reapplied finish showing high edge wear on magazine housing and front barrel band. Bulgarian crest is sharp. Wood retains virtually all of the factory reapplied varnish showing minimal handling marks, considering the age of the rifle. Bore is bright, but has a small area of pitting 2" from muzzle. Rifling is strong throughout. Action is smooth and locks up tightly. Gun (C) 1903 contract receiver manufactured by Steyr for Bulgaria. Bulgarian crest on receiver. Has spitzer conversion marking on barrel shank. Matching numbers include receiver, barrel, bolt, and front barrel band. Sling is present. Left side of receiver has been import marked. CONDITION: Metal components retain 90% of arsenal finish showing high edge wear on receiver and magazine housing. Slight wear to front barrel band and stacking rod. Wood retains 90% of reapplied varnish showing scattered handling marks all around. Bore is slightly frosted, but shows strong rifling throughout. Action is smooth and locks up tightly. MW
