A good example of Winchester's 1873 musket in the usual configuration. CONDITION: Markings are good. Frame is mostly brown patina and retains traces of original bright blue around sideplates. Screw heads in good condition. Barrel is mostly brown patina with good markings and some light surface pitting. Buttplate is mostly grey patina with some significant from being set down hard. Brass lifter in good condition with good markings of "44 CAL." Action is good and bore is brilliant, showing no pitting whatsoever. Loading gate with faint traces of original blue. Forend is dark walnut with minor dents and wear, but is full dimension with little wear. Altogether, a good example of this classic 1873 Winchester, and with its superb bore, it would make a great shooter.
