Springfield manufactured 1873 Trapdoor with casehardened breech block marked" U.S. Model 1873" manufactured in 1887. Blued lock, barrel and hardware. US marked buttplate. Buffington rear sighted barrel with "V" and "P" proofs over standing eagle. Barrel is also marked with "A" and "P" by the receiver. Wood full military stock with "SWP" proof and dated 1886. Gun is fitted for socket type bayonet and comes with original steel bayonet. CONDITION: 80% original blue on barrel and hardware with 70% case remaining on breechblock. Gun has shootable bore and is mechanically sound. Wood has been cleaned with visible cartouche and usage marks.
