Although a Model 1901, these extremely scarce pistols may be considered antique, as the frames were manufactured prior to 1899. CONDITION: This particular example is superb retaining nearly 100% of its rich high polish blue on the frame and slightly more matted original blue on the barrel. The sideplate retains nearly all the original nitre blue. The checkered trigger retains nearly all the original blue. Front sight with ivory bead retains nearly all the original blue, as does the Partridge type adjustable rear sight. Checkered walnut stocks retain much of their original varnish with nearly perfect checkering and only three minor dents at extreme of butt. Front of muzzle still retains its original bright polish. This is a superb example of this rare and desirable pistol, the last of the rolling block handguns.
