Ithaca Gun Co. was by far the leading seller in the Trap shooting market in the US for many years in the early 20th century. This particular gun is a Grade IV Knick Model with 32" barrel that has a ventilated top rib with white plastic mid and front beads. The capped full pistol grip buttstock is nicely checkered with two fleur-de-lis through the grip and has a brass oval near toe and terminates with a ventilated Hawkins brand pad. The trigger is nickel plated. Round nose forearm is nicely checkered in Grade IV pattern with triangular ebony tip and engraved and blued Deeley release. The frame is engraved in standard Grade IV pattern with shooter at the trap line on left, classic American Eagle on right, surrounded by well cut shaded floral leaf pattern. CONDITION: Excellent and appears original. Action retains 80-85% original case colors, starting to tone on bottom. Buttstock and forend are excellent with only minor handling marks and some minor crazing on the back right side of the buttstock under a coat of newer finish, but otherwise sound and in excellent shape. Bore is brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. A very pretty gun and these are hard to find without a ton of period alterations. JSL
