Outstanding factory engraved 1st Model 38 single action Merwin Hulbert with exposed cylinder pin and hole in loading gate. Nickel finish with 3-1/2" barrel and dog's head motif hard rubber grips. Engraved in the typical rose and floral Merwin pattern with vignette of eagles head on the left side of frame and additional vignette of fly bird on left side of frame. Coverage is well over 75% of the exterior of the gun. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine and shows absolutely no trace of having been fired. Nickel has several very minor scratches on butt and other high points from over 100 years of storage. Truly a remarkable 1st Model.
