Manufactured between 1876 and 1877. The Baby Russian or 1st Model .38 Smith & Wesson single action has a 4" barrel and five shot cylinder. Two piece Smith & Wesson numbers matching hard rubber grips. Matching numbers observed on butt, cylinder, barrel extension and inside right grip. Nickel finish with spur trigger. CONDITION: Very fine with most all bright nickel finish remaining. Slight finish loss is noted on sides of barrel at muzzle with numerous very light scratches from gentle use. Bore is excellent being bright with sharp lands and grooves chambers are equally fine. Action operates properly and smoothly. Grips are very good with little wear and no cracks or material loss.
