Manufactured in 1946. Mounted with 6-1/2" pinned barrel with Patridge front sight. Checkered medallion Smith & Wesson service stocks factory numbered internally matching to gun. Soft blue finish overall with "Smith & Wesson" on left side of barrel and "38 S.& W. SPECIAL CTG" on right side of barrel. N frame square butt design with five screw frame. CONDITION: Very fine with over 97% factory applied soft blue finish remaining with losses at muzzle and leading edges of cylinder as wells a very fine cylinder turn line. Bore is bright with sharp lands and grooves. Action is smooth and functions properly. Comes with factory letter dated March 13th, 1984 giving a concise history of the 38/44 Outdoorsman Model and shows shipment was to King Gun Sight, San Francisco, California.
