1st Model New Century, Triple Lock Hand Ejector. Caliber .44 S&W Special with 4" barrel. N frame square butt with factory letter. Blue finish with fixed sights and diamond pattern service pattern grips. Triple Lock crane lock-up. Introduced in 1908 with a very limited production of 15,376 guns the first model Triple Lock was discontinued in 1915. This gun is accompanied by a factory letter indicating is was held in inventory and not shipped until October 16th, 1917 to Billery Arms Co. CONDITION: Good with over 80% original factory applied blue finish remaining with losses at sides of barrel from holster wear, high points of cylinder and edges of frame, trigger guard and backstrap. The two piece checkered walnut grips are very good with typical light checkering wear and are numbered to another gun but fit excellently. Bore has some light surface corrosion at forcing cone but land and grooves are sharp and balance of bore is bright. Chambers are very good with a small amount of old carbon build-up at front. A good example of a 100 year old large frame Smith & Wesson.
