The Centennial Pre-Model 40 is a hammerless, double action only, five shot revolver featuring pinned barrel, four screw frame, flat latch, fluted cylinder. Inside the grip frame is an R stamp indicating factory refinish but it is undated. The grips are smooth silver medallion, round butt, and numbered to another gun. First produced in 1952, this example is a low three digit serial number. CONDITION: Factory did a wonderful job refinishing retaining sharp edges and legends. Revolver retains virtually all of this finish, although it was fired as evidenced by cylinder burn. There is a light drag line. Grips are near mint. Strong clean bore. A handsome early gun, probably first full few weeks of production.
